Extensive research and testing goes into selecting the best lubricants and fluids for Haas machines, and may include custom formulations specifically for Haas. To ensure the proper operation and long life of your Haas machine, use only Haas-specified lubricants, fluids, and sealants.
Axis Lubrication Has Changed from Grease to Oil
ATTENTION! To increase system performance and reliability, Haas has converted the machine axis lubrication system from grease to oil.
Haas Liquid Grease (HLG) cartridges and refills are no longer available. Machines using HLG should be converted to Haas Axis Lubrication Oil, at the earliest convenience.*
You may convert your machine to oil at any time. The process is simple, and is a good opportunity to verify that the machine’s axis lubrication system is working properly. See the conversion procedure linked below.
Order PN 93-3585: AXIS LUBE CONVERSION KIT HLG TO OIL from your local HFO, or through this website. The kit includes a canister of Haas Axis Lubrication Oil, and a 0.020" orifice for the side-mount tool changer (mill) or C-axis (lathe) lube line, if equipped. The conversion kit also includes a software patch containing updated system parameters, which is automatically associated with the machine serial number when the kit is ordered.
Installation of the software patch is not required to convert the axis lube system to oil. The system will operate correctly, after changing a few settings in the control. However, the patch should be installed by a Haas Service Technician at your next scheduled service visit, to optimize the performance of the axis lubrication system.
*Applies to machines built from April 2014 to August 2022 using Haas Liquid Grease (HLG). Machines built after August 2022 use the Haas Axis Lubrication Oil (HALO) system.
